Leafs swing a minor league deal

The log jam on the blue line for the Toronto Maple Leafs just got a little more crowded as the team announced Friday that they had acquired defenceman Matt Lashoff from the Tampa Bay Lightning for forwards Alex Berry and Stefano Giliati.

as per TSN

Woikins thoughts: A bit of a strange move , or is it. The Leafs allready have great depth at the D position. Burke did say that he would swing around and reisit some names stemming from the Kaberle dealings.

Leafs are tight against the limit for pro contracts for one team, and this was a two for one, which could mean Burke could be expecting a signing or possibly swinging a deal to move a dman and bring in a forward.

Personally I believe he could be gearing up for both.

Stay tuned could finally be a little activity.
