The biggest question surrounding the Leafs. For the better part of a year , rumors have been swirling that Brad Richards will become the top line center for the Leafs .
From the trade deadline to now , Leafs fans have been dreaming of the thought of hearing Joe Bowman screaming Richards to Kessel and in the net ... Holy Makinawwwwww .
If you really think about it , it just seems to be a perfect fit for the Leafs , and the timing couldnt be better . Burke I believe has every intention to go hard after Richards , but does Richards want to come to Toronto ?
Only Brad knows the answer to that question . I dont know what teams have the space to aquire the cap hit that will surely come with Brad.
The four teams rumored to be interested in obtaining Brad .... The Leafs, Kings , Rangers, and the Lightning . The three competitors all have cap issues they would have to deal with to bring in such a player, and may opt for less expensive solutions . Kings and lightning have expensive RFA's to resign and the Rangers would have to do some major shuffling to fit Brad .
Leafs have plenty of cap and a huge glaring hole in the number one center slot . Richards easily makes Kessel a 40-50 goal scorer , makes the pp dangerous by playing the point , and definately moves the Leafs into the playoffs .
Heres to hoping ... Come to Leaf land Brad ... we need ya!
